Daily - the massive triangle: The triangle was broken, also there was kind of test of the rising channel (brown)

4 hours:The rising channel "out" of the triangle. Channel is broken at the top, but I do not think this is so important, and probably gold will fall to the bottom. See 30 min chart.

30 min Probably a bearish wedge forming. Target will be "middle" of the 4h channel ($1,018 area) or the bottom - $990-1,000 area

Gold 1 week chartThe (broken) long term ex-resistance is seen @ 988 or so. This is the upper part of the "massive triangle" (bottom part is not shown). Because it was broken, now it must act as support.

Gold 4h chartWe got kind of correction to about $ 992 or so. Now we may see rice to $922 area or may be even higher. The test of massive triangle (brown line @ 970) is not impossible.

On 2 h chart gold is on the top of the upper channel. Decline is due, but we will see...

Bearish case of gold

Friend of mine sent me an article, where following bearish case was presented:

Gold 1 week:

The case made is that the gold will fell inside the downtrend shown with pink lines, all way down to 650 USD area.

I do not think this may happen because:

• The upper pink line is broken - this is same line as upper line from what I call "massive triangle". This line act as support now.
• The both moving averages will provide support.
• The brown line is the line from short term channel I follow last 2-3 weeks. It will provide strong support as well. It is currently @ $970.
• Blue line is support from year 2006-2007. This support is very strong, and I do not see how it can be broken.
• On the second chart we can see the support from year 2000 (light blue). It is currently higer than the support from 2006-2007 support. I do not see how this one will be broken as well.

Gold chart year 2000-2009:Here long term supports are shown.

Gold must decline now, because a correction is due. Best target will be the brown line - the massive triangle from daily chart (connecting $1040 , $1005 and $970 mark - see some daily gold chart).

Blue lines also will act as support.

Once the triangle is tested, raise will resume.

Brown line is the massive triangle from daily chart. It is clearly broken now. We even had small test today. Now, the price is stopped at what could be a resistance just before $1000 mark - the resistance is from daily chart.

Now we may *hope* that gold will test the triangle again, so we may buy a speculative possiton.

For those who have no any gold possitions, I recommend they to something about it.

Disclosure: No speculative possition. Sold very small MFN possition today @ 9.70. Looking to buy it back next days @ 9.00 or even at 8.50.

Gold 1 dayDaily chart have a massive triangle (brown). The triangle may be broken now and may be the move to $1,200 has begun. However because of "massivity" we can not be sure if triangle is broken.

Gold 4h4 hours chart - blue lines shown the old rising channel. It is clearly broken @ ~966. Now price consolidating around the resistance of the parallel blue line. Note this line is higher than the triangle line from daily chart (brown).

It is extremly important what gold will do tomorrow.

The development of gold price was very unexpected. The price "cut" the 3 resistanses (blue and grey lines) and stopped in the middle of nowhere ;) . From there the price began correction and it will be very important where this correction will end.

Now the price may find support at the blue lines (objective $987) or may fell back in grey channel (only upper line is shown, objective $937, then $922).

Gold 1h chart:Basically these are one and same chart. Gold found support at the $935 blue line, thats parallel to the previous channel. Grey lines shows the downtrend. Formal support act as resistance now and the price have difficulties to go tru $946 level.

One possibility is over time, the blue lines will raise, and the gray line will drop. Then they will "meet" at let say $948 where the the gold price will hit the immediate term peak.

Unfortunately, the downtrend I spotted on Gold chart was developed and gold fell to the downtrend channel bottom (grey lines), and in same time to general daily support (pink). Note the pink line is estimated, because chart we use is 4 hours.

The low risk enter point in gold is probably now. Now gold must raise, but only to $955.

After that we may expect a correction, but it will be very difficult to predict it at this point, because the price will be inside the blue channel once again.

EUR/ZAR 1 dayHere price pretty much go in range (canal) between 10.80 and 11.65. At the moment the price is at the range top and we may expect the price to fall to 10.80 again.

EUR/ZAR 4hHere on 4h chart we can see the supports - 11.30, 11.20, ~11.10 (brown line), 10.90, 10.80 (range bottom).

Conclusion, in the short term, the rand will go up against the EURo. In medium term we may expect the price to stay in the range.

Gold 4h, EUR/USD 8h and USD/ZAR 4h

Gold 4hGold correcting and we may already saw the low point - $ 940.54. It is not on the exact bottom (I miss the trade with $1 too). Now trend must be up to $980 area.

Grey line is probable down trend, and *must* be ignored for the moment.

EUR/USD 8hEURo already corrected, and now going up to $1.45. Note unlike the gold chart, this chart is 8h.

USD/ZAR 4hA reader requested me for EUR/ZAR analysis. I did USD/ZAR instead, but will look at EUR/ZAR later as well. Imortant here is that higher values means higher USD, lower values means higher rand.

Similar to other charts, there are USD-rising channel. The brown line probably forms a wedge, but it is already broken. Now we may see fall to ~8 rands, or fall may continue to 7.8 rands.

This means USD will go lower, and the ZAR will go up, at least in short term.
In long term ZAR may go down against the USD and probably against the EUR.

Gold 4hThe blue channel is still in tact. The wedge from previous post (brown top and pink bottom) was broken, but support was found before what may be parallel channel (brown).
Now prices are near blue channel top, and price must go down at least to brown channel bottom ($956), but I dont think is good entry because the price may fall to blue channel bottom ($935).

Gold 1hHere we see the probable channel (brown).
There must be selling around $970 (even it was broken for a while).
